Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day by honoring the generations of women who have shaped the history of the Rode Hall Silver Band. Since our formation as a fife and drum band in 1837, our community has continuously evolved, and the contribution of women has been a vital part of that journey.
From the trailblazers who first broke barriers in the brass world to the talented players currently taking the stage with us in Blackpool, your influence is felt in every note we play. 🎶 We are proud to be a band where women play a leading role in every capacity. Our history has been enriched by those who have led from the corner seats, held the conductor's baton—starting with our first female musical director in 1997—mastered complex percussion parts, or provided the essential behind-the-scenes support that keeps us running.
By championing the next generation and bringing such dedication to our community, the women of Rode Hall are truly at the heart of everything we do. 💙 To all the brilliant women in our ranks: thank you for your talent and the spirit you bring to our music. ✨
Happy International Women’s Day! 🥂🌷
