Rode Hall Silver Band has now completed its 2026 regional contest commitments. While the results were not what we had hoped for, they remain part of the unpredictable nature of brass band contesting. The commitment and hard work shown by every member of the band over recent months is something we can all take pride in.
The band will move to the Fourth Section next year. Although this is not the direction we wished for, it does not diminish the progress we have made or the strength of the organisation. We remain in a positive position, with plenty to look forward to.
Our Musical Director, Ken, deserves particular thanks for his dedication, stamina, and patience throughout the contest preparation. His leadership and commitment have been exceptional, and the band is fortunate to benefit from his experience and musicianship.
We now turn our attention to the months ahead, continuing our work on the upcoming concert repertoire and building on the musical principles strengthened during the contest period. The band’s strong core of committed players ensures we move forward with confidence.
As we look ahead, preparations for 2026 are already underway, and our landmark 190th anniversary year in 2027 promises to be a special milestone in the band’s history.
Thank you to every member of the band for your hard work, resilience, and good humour as we continue our journey together.
