What a privilege it was for Rode Hall Silver Band to lead the parade this weekend for Congleton’s Civic Parade and Service in honour of our Town Mayor, Cllr Suzy Firkin!
Stepping off from Antrobus Street and marching down Mill Street with so many fantastic local volunteers, charities, youth groups, and civic dignitaries following behind was an absolute honour. It was a wonderful celebration of public service and community spirit, capped off by the privilege of playing during the Civic Service alongside Congleton Choral Society and a small set afterwards whilst the guests took tea.
Thank you to everyone who lined the route to show their support, and our warmest wishes to Cllr Suzy Firkin for a rewarding and successful mayoral year ahead! 🎺
A special mention must go to our newly refurbished marching bass drum, which had its very first outing this weekend! A huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Dorian and Lauren from the Cheshire Drum Corps for doing such a stunning job overhauling it—and an extra big thank you to Lauren for marching and playing it so brilliantly to keep us all perfectly in step. It looked and sounded fantastic! 🥁✨
